Some Common questions:

1. Why are your lesson rates higher than the rates through our school’s band program?

Saxophone lessons are an investment in your student’s musical life. Lessons are not just supervised practise, but an ongoing commitment to growth and development which is not limited to 60 or 30 minutes each week. As a teacher, I am invested from the beginning in every one of my students, and I am available to them over email as often as they need me between lessons. I expect all students and families to take the commitment to lessons as seriously as I do, and with this investment, you are demonstrating to me that we’re all working together.

In short, you get what you pay for. The rates above are based on my hourly fees as a Professor with 13 years of experience in teaching. I am also an active performer and researcher, which means that every saxophonist I work with benefits from my depth and diversity of knowledge, as I am passionate about educating the future of the field.

Our lessons are purely focussed on the needs of each student, with lessons tailored specifically around the individual learning styles and goals of every saxophonist.

From time to time, you will also receive special invitations to performances and events as a member of my studio.

2. Am I able to pay the fees in instalments rather than upfront?

Yes! If you are unable to pay for the full number of lessons up front, you are able to pay in three instalments:

For 60 minute lessons: First instalment = $250, Second instalment = $250 Third instalment = $200

For 30 minute lessons: First instalment = $150, Second instalment = $150 Third instalment = $100

3. Can you guarantee my young saxophonist will make first chair in band?

As every student’s outcomes depend 100% on their focus and dedication to improving on the saxophone through daily practice, Unfortunately I cannot guarantee specific results. I know what it is that band directors and conductors are looking for when they select students in auditions and placements, and can give the students the instruction and guidance they would need to get them into those places, however I am not able to practice for them.

By working diligently students can achieve their goals and I love nothing more than to stand on the sidelines and cheer on the members of my studio who worked hard to achieve their big goals!
